Music: ICoS fan list

I’m trying to find a way to make it so people can listen to the ICoS fan playlist without a Spotify account. This is the newest option they provided us through Spotify, which I have tried placing on the navigation to the right. But I can’t tell if it’s working. Below is a similar embedded version of it.

Can anyone let me know if it works for them without Spotify?

I’ll do a better job of explaining everything and make this a more official post if I ever hear from anyone that the playlist works in this entry or on the side. (I hope it works on the side, that’s the best place for it)

    Hey Ais πŸ™‚

So when I click on one of the songs it just goes to the “almost there… sign up to spotify” window.

    Does that answer your question?

Damn! It does, thank you. I’m trying to get the stupid thing to just play like an embedded playlist without anyone having to sign up for anything.

It does apparently however have a “Sign Up through Facebook” button which would allow to access it without Spotify. But it’s stil not totally free of access.

Thank you! Damn. I want a way for people to just be able to listen without signing up for anything, through FB or not. That’s good to know it at least has that option though.

    Hi Ais

brings me straight to Spotify on the laptop (where we have an account) but won’t play on the tablet (where I don’y have one)

Thanks a million for trying. xfrancesca (@giuliabo)

Damn it! Thank you for letting me know. It said this was supposed to allow the playlist without spotify but it was lies, all lies! I’ll probably have to put this on some other service eventually so it will let us embed the playlist. So frustrating.

    Dearest Ais
I must say I am in awe of the incredibly good playlist. I spent yesterday blaring it on. Some of those songs are my favorites of all time (like Iris and Queer – and omg I hadn’t heard that one since my raving days!) Sometimes the internet leaves me gobsmacked; like, i mean, how is it possible to meet people that have the almost exact musical taste as you do (I know, you kids find it normal – but to put it nicely – I am like a different vintage really).
And 168 songs? What amount of love ICoS has/is inspiring, yeah? TBH very rarely I have felt so taken in with a story that every time a hear a suitable song I want to shout about it and tell everybody “hey, hey did you hearXXXX, it is perfect for ICoS “. (I also realise that perhaps that’s creepy)
Anyway – I blabber. So, I’ll be listening to this for quite sometime and I will add my personal other favorites to the listening:
The Nationals -Demons for Hsin in AfterImage
Cloud Control – Scar for Boyd in Fade (but also after Lou)
Arcade Fire – Reflektor – for Boyd and Hsin
Pearl Jam – My father’s son – for Emilio and Hsin

And I lke to imagine that if Boyd and Hsin (or even Emilio and Zac) sung and danced with each other they would go for The Stone Roses – Fantastic

I’m often in awe of the internet, as well πŸ™‚ I sometimes think about all the people I know who have similar tastes in different things (manga, books, tv shows, etc) and who I’ve come to know as varying levels of friends over the years– and I never would have known ANY of them without the internet. With many of us across the world from each other, it never would have happened. Not even with the people in my same country but another state, or even just another city in the same state. It’s really quite amazing because it serves to constantly underscore how we’re ultimately all the same human beings, regardless of our setting or experiences.

I’m so happy that ICoS stays in your mind enough for songs to make you think of it even once it’s over– and that it has worked as a way for different people to come together, too, in any small way it might ever have done so. It really is incredible (and very humbling) that it’s been so inspirational for people πŸ™‚ Have you heard the two songs that were made for it?

Thank you for all those songs! All of them were in grooveshark and have now been added to the playlist, except (sadly) The Stone Roses – Fantastic. Is that for sure the song title? I tried checking for it on youtube and then google so I could listen to it but I’m not seeing a song named that by them.

Oh Ais, I am sorry, that is because my fuzzy brain obvs switched off! Because the song is The Sweet Fantastic by Ian Brown (who wrote this after the Stone Roses – no need to panic – they are back together- oh man THAT gig!)
I am so honored the songs went into the playlist, it is my way to thank you guys for the amazing stories.
Oh yeah, ICoS will forever be in my head – I read a lot Ais and this, omg, this wins all the prizes I have to give. It is – without the shadow of a doubt – one of the best series I have ever read; and when it’ll come out in paper (I’ll wait for ever!) it will go straight up on my IRL” I love these books so much I wanna have their babies” shelf!

Awesome, thank you! I added it to the list and am listening to it now πŸ™‚ I like it!

And thank you again for being so awesome and liking our story so much ❀

Glad to hear you like the song. It is one of my very favourites. For me it is attached to a very special time in my life. I’d like to think that if the “boys” were super open with their feelings the “…you make me feel majestic..” bit would be what they sang to each other. ;)) xf

I’m not sure how to get to it, even with a Spotify account… 😦
